Cottonwood Pass
Jimmy enjoyed the snow. It was really cold up that high.

We left Tin Cup, Colorado in the afternoon of June 16 and went over Cottonwood Pass to Buena Vista, CO. There was alot of snow there yet. Howard hasn't gotten all the pictures on the computer yet. I will send one later to show the depth of the snow in comparison to our RV. The road over the pass was dirt until we got to the top and payment on the other side. The dirt part was really pretty good for the time of year.

Old Griz and Tin Cup Kate

Our visit June16 with Larry Campbell and his wife Kate was very interesting. Larry's grandpa Steven Campbell and Howard's grandpa Robert Campbell were brothers. Larry built his log house and builds log cabins for other people. We toured his house which has alot of antiques. Also he does his own taxidermy so there were alot of stuffed critters. He also has a wonderful wood working shop. He built the table and chairs pictured and also carved the Campbell Family Crest on a beam in his dining room. Larry fixed us hamburgers and all the trimmings for lunch. We left for Cottonwood Pass after lunch. Stay blogged in for more highlights of the trip to Wyoming.

Visit to Tin Cup, Colorado

On Sunday June 14 we left Hotchkiss, Co for Tin Cup, CO to visit a Campbell cousin that Howard's sister Nancy located through her genealogy search. We camped that night at Taylor Lake near Gunnison, CO in a forest service camp ground. It was cool there--about 10,000 feet or higher but very beautiful. The next day we left for Tin Cup, Colorado--not too far down the road. Tin Cup is a old Mining town. When prospectors found gold at there, they called it Tin Cup because all they could find to pan gold was a tin cup. Jimmy enjoyed being there also. I will post more later on our visit there.
Vacation to Wyoming
We left Oracle on June 13, Travelled to Globe and then to Show Low through Salt River Canyon. Ater that we went through St John's to the Interstate 40. We went to Gallop, New Mexico, turned North and travelled through New Mexico to Cortez, Colorado where we spent the night in a Rv Park. The next day we travelled to Rico and Telluride, Colorado. These two towns are old gold mining towns. It was very beautiful there and also very interesting. We went over the mountains to Monrose, CO and then on to Hotchkiss, CO where Howard's cousin Eddie Vandenberg and his wife, Jill, live. They live right next to the convention grounds. We went to Meeting with them on Sunday at the convention grounds. Then after Meeting we had lunch with Jill , Eddie and Margaret(Dollie) Vandenberg. Dollie was the worker we first hear the Gospel from and also professed in her meeting. I don't have pictures to accompany this message as Howard accidently deleted the first three days of our trip. Jill is going to e-mail us pictures she took of us with Dollie. Dollie is in her eighties now. She is no longer in the work. I will post pictures later.
CORRECTIONS
I just wanted to let you know that I noticed that I had the buffalo and moose picture titles mixed up. I do know the difference between a buffalo and a moose.

Jimmy Nearly Gets Attacked

I nearly got attacked by a dog in Tin Cup, Colorado. My Mom took me out of the motorhome to meet Dad's cousin Larry Campbell, whom Aunt Nancy found through her Campbell Genealogy search. Their dog, Sammie, growled at me and tried to attack me. We sniffed noses and everything was okay after that. I had alot of adventures after this. Stayed Blogged in.
